How Does Buying A Voice Over Work?

With me - very smoothly!

Here's the process from start to finish in four simple steps;

1) Get In Touch 

Call, email or use my Get In Touch page and let me know the following;

- What's the project and where's it broadcasting?

(For Example; "Animated explainer video  for social media advertising")

- How many words in the script? 

(Here's a handy word count tool; https://wordcounter.net/)

- When you need it finished by?

- Would you like a demo?

(If so then send a small portion of your script and some directions for the performance)

2) You'll Get A Quote

We'll agree a price point together and then I'll get started with the recording.

3) You'll Get The First Draft

Have a listen to your voice over. If you love it; great! If you have some tweaks; just let me know and I'll make the changes.​

4) Final Draft and Payment

Once we've got the recording sounding exactly how you want and you've received the final file then you'll also receive my invoice. I ask that payments be made within 30 days of you receiving the final audio file of the project.

How Does Live Direction Work?

If you're feeling creative and want to try out several different ideas for your voice over, or if you want to have the benefits of sitting in the voice booth as I record but none of the hassle of travel then live direction is for you! All you need is your Skype account.

Using Skype you can live-call into my recording session allowing you to direct me as I voice your script. It gives us maximum flexibility and accuracy, and there's no down-side; the files are still at professional grade, broadcast quality and there's no need for multiple emails back and forward to get the read exactly how you want it as you'll be right there to direct it first try.

After the session has ended and we've got the script sounding exactly right I'll sign off, edit and master the audio and you'll have your brand new voice over before you know it.

I Need A Voice Over Fast!

No problem! My target turnaround time is 24 hours maximum for all standard length voice over projects. This means inside of one single day (and often far quicker than that) you'll receive your final, ready-for-broadcast audio file.

So what's a standard length project?

Anything under 10 minutes as a rough guide, that's approximately 1,300 - 1,500 words or three pages on Word.

If you're over 1,500 words I'll try and accommodate your timescale as best I can but depending on when you make contact it may not always be possible to complete the project under 24 hours.

What File Type Do You Deliver/Record In

Any file you want. 

Unless specified otherwise I tend to deliver in WAV format as I find it offers the best quality and is generally industry standard for professional voice projects, however other popular choices are; MP3 and AIFF.

 I normally record in a 48,000 Hz sample rate (high quality), with a floating bit depth of 32 bits in Mono in order to get the cleanest, clearest recordings, but if you're tech-savy and have your own recording specifications then just let me know and I'll be happy to use your settings.

How Do You Deliver The Files

However you want.

I'm sure you're seeing a pattern here;

I can work off whatever delivery method suits you. I use WeTransfer as my standard but other popular requests have been SoundCloud, Email Attachment (where size allows) and G-Drive. I'm very happy to use your own preferred file sharing system.
